Portland has received international praise for its urban growth boundary, public transportation, and access to nature, making it one of the most sustainable and livable cities in North America. In essence, Portland "gets" sustainability. The EcoDistricts Summit takes place in the town that so many other cities are watching to see what comes next in urban sustainability.
Outside of the conference, enjoy Portland's bustling social scene. The city's neighborhoods are accessible by bike, rail or foot - and they come complete with local restaurants, breweries, parks and Portland's famous creative class. Outside of Portland, the Willamette Valley, Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood and the Oregon Coast are all within a 1-2 hour drive.
